The OSHRM Board leads and organizes the direction and activities for the OSHRM group.  Benefits of taking on a volunteer position include:
  • Networking
  • Resume booster
  • Recognition as an HR leader 
  • Recertification credits toward SHRM and/or HRCI for your volunteer role
  • Membership in National SHRM (if employer does not cover)
  • Attendance at the annual KYSHRM Leadship Conference (includes registration, lodging, meals)
  • Registration to the KYSHRM Conference for one Board member each year
  • Opportunities to shape the chapter and our regional HR future

 
Each Board position has certain responsibilities, but there are a few responsibilities that are common to all of them:
  • Terms are for two years except for President-Elect which is four years, two as President-Elect and two as President.
  • Regular attendance and active participation in monthly Board meetings.  Board meeting are usually held on the first Thursday of each month.
  • Build your knowledge about your role and OSHRM.
  • Be willing to use your time, knowledge, and resources to help the Board and lead the Chapter.
  • Regular attendance at Chapter meetings.  Chapter meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month.
  • Be a member in good standing with OSHRM and SHRM.
